Host Excellence have been a very solid host for me so far.
Although I've never needed to use it, the live chat feature looks pretty cool! They have a somewhat confusing array of options, but for just starting out, the instant plan offers great value.

Host Excellence was recommended to a freind who works as a web designer, and recommends this host to his clients. I trusted his opinion and i am glad I did. Excellent customer service (Emails answered within 10 minutes normally), and very helpful and useful too.
They seem to have their act together when it comes to reliability, too - I have never noticed my site down. ever.

Dropped a few performance points as I notice my site does slow down quite alot during certain times of the day.
I suppose this is the same for all shared hosting plans though, so I'm probably being a bit unfair.
Great customer service - my emails are always answered very quickly and they seem very knowledgeable.
Not noticed any downtime or other greamlins so far ,so that's good.
Features are abovr average for the price I think - I got a free domain registration and also a dedicated IP address - something most other hosts make you pay for.
SO far I'm very happy.

Their starter plan is great value for money for anyone looking to take their first steps into the hosting world.
$2,95 a month is excellent. You "only" get 50MB space, which does not sound much, but it's plenty for loads of static pages and a good handful of photos as well.
As an added bonus, they guaruntee that you can upgrade if you outgrow this plan, so you cant really lose!
